Dementia & Alzheimer’s Awareness Presentation
Join us for an informative nurse-led presentation in recognition of Dementia Awareness Month. Learn about the early signs of dementia and Alzheimer’s, how these conditions can affect individuals and families, and practical ways to support loved ones as they experience change. There will also be an opportunity to ask questions and learn more about available support.

BEST Mobility: Seniors Transportation Workshop & Excursion
Free to attend.
Learn how to travel confidently using public transit through an interactive workshop followed by a guided community excursion. Explore local transportation options, safety tips, and mobility supports before heading out together to a local café chosen by the group. Participants joining the excursion will receive a Compass Card loaded with $5.
The workshop is open to all; however, space for the guided excursion is limited to 15 participants.

Celebrate Japanese culture through music, dance, storytelling, and cultural demonstrations inspired by the Obon Festival. Participants will enjoy a traditional tea ceremony, learn a Bon Odori dance, and create a personalized lantern craft to take home.

We’ve all forgotten why we walked into a room or where we left our keys—but when is forgetfulness a normal part of aging, and when should we be concerned? Join Angelina Polsinelli from Simon Fraser University or an informative discussion exploring normal age-related memory changes, warning signs to watch for, and when it may be time to speak with your doctor.

Spend the day exploring the beauty at the White Rock Waterfront! Walk around the promenade, browse local shops and enjoy the ocean views. Participants will have time to enjoy lunch at one of the waterfront restaurants or bring lunch to enjoy by the beachside.

Day Trip: Bowen Island Adventure
Join us for a scenic day trip to beautiful Bowen Island! We will be travelling by charter bus to Horseshoe Bay before taking the ferry to Snug Cove. Explore the charming waterfront village, browse local shops and galleries, and enjoy beautiful ocean views. Participants will have free time to purchase lunch at one of the island’s famous cafes or restaurants before we return to Vancouver.
Strategies for Spending Retirement Income Presentation by RBC
Planning how to draw income in retirement can be challenging. Join a representative from RBC for an informative presentation on strategies for spending retirement income while helping to preserve capital and maintain long-term financial security. Participants will have the opportunity to ask questions and learn practical approaches to retirement planning.

Step back in time with a visit to Burnaby Village Museum! Explore the charming heritage village featuring historic buildings, gardens, demonstrations, and a beautifully restored carousel. Participants will have time toe to enjoy at the museum cafe or bring a packed lunch.

We will visit the tropical Bloedel Conservatory and see exotic birds, unique plants and nature before enjoying the gardens and scenic viewpoints overlooking the city. Participants will have the time to enjoy lunch at the Seasons Cafe or bring their own packed lunch.
VCH Pain Management Presentation
Chronic pain can affect many aspects of daily life, but there are strategies and resources available to help. Join a presenter from Vancouver Coastal Health for an informative discussion on understanding chronic pain, pain management techniques, and ways to improve quality of life. Participants will have the opportunity to ask questions and learn about available supports and services.
